Meeting in Astana about the Duke University scholarship and the activities of the foundation
On July 11, 2025, a meeting was held at Quantum TECH School in Astana to launch a scholarship Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Scholarship, established by the foundation in collaboration with Duke University and Fuqua School of Business.
The event was attended by representatives of educational organizations, young professionals, Duke graduates and foundation partners. Participants were presented with the main parameters of the scholarship, the application process and selection criteria, and also discussed the role of private initiatives in the development of education in Kazakhstan.
The scholarship will be an annual support for Kazakh citizens seeking an MBA in the United States. Projects were also presented during the meeting Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Foundation in the field of school infrastructure, the development of STEM education and cultural initiatives.
The Foundation plans to further strengthen support for education in the country and expand access to quality opportunities for Kazakh youth.

Presentation of the foundation's scholarships and educational projects in Almaty
On July 9, 2025, the scholarship was presented in Almaty Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Scholarship, established in collaboration with Duke University and business school Fuqua School of Business, as well as the activities of the Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Foundation.
The event was held at the Scientific Library of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University named after Seraly Kaniev. The meeting brought together Duke graduates, university representatives, young professionals, journalists and foundation partners.
During the presentation, the goals of the scholarship, the conditions for admission to the Fuqua master's program and other educational initiatives were presented. The scholarship will be awarded annually to one citizen of Kazakhstan and covers studies at Fuqua School of Business, one of the ten best business schools in the world.
A separate block was the presentation of current projects Berik and Bayan Kaniyev Foundation — in the field of school education, digital infrastructure, support for talented young people and the development of cultural spaces.

Opening of the “Zhas Qyran” Football Center and “Sputnik” Stadium in Almaty
A ceremonial opening took place in Almaty for the youth football center “Zhas Qyran” and the renovated “Sputnik” Stadium. The project was implemented with the support of the city administration and Berik Kaniyev. The center’s mission is to promote the development of youth and children’s football in Kazakhstan.

The opening of a triathlon park in Aktobe
In honor of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's national symbols, the city's first Triathlon Park was opened in Aktobe. The project was implemented with the assistance of Berik Kaniyev and includes a 2.4 km bike and treadmill, a sports center with three halls and an office building.

Reconstruction of the Beket Ata mosque in Almaty
The Beket Ata Mosque, located in the Alatau district of Almaty, was reconstructed in 2022. The reconstruction included increasing the building's area, building a new minaret and dome, and arranging the surrounding area. The project was funded by the Berik & Bayan Kaniyev Foundation.

The Fizmat Endowment Fund has organized the V International Open Creative Competition for Olympic Reserve Teachers and Coaches in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science — the IMPACT Olympiad. The event is aimed at developing teaching skills and sharing experience among teachers.

Harvard will study the experience of Kazakhstan's “Mom's House” project
Harvard University is interested in the experience of Kazakhstan's “Mom's House” (ANA UYI) project. The ANA UYI Foundation works to prevent abandonment of newborns and reduce the number of children entering orphanages. During the foundation's operation, more than 7,000 babies have remained in their families thanks to the assistance provided to their mothers.

Opening of the scientific library named after Serala Kaniev in Almaty
The scientific library of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, named after Serala Kaniev, was opened in Almaty. The reconstruction of the building increased the area to 2,195 m², and the number of seats to 550. The library is equipped with modern reading areas, a conference room and an Academic Writing Center.

Nurlan Kapparov Fellowship panel session in Almaty
A Nurlan Kapparov Fellowship panel session was held in Almaty, aimed at discussing issues of obtaining a prestigious education at the Harvard John F Kennedy School of Management. The scholarship program was created in honor of Nurlan Kapparov and supports students from Kazakhstan seeking to study at Harvard.

Renovation of the Beket Ata Mosque library
The mosque's library has been expanded with a new collection of scientific, artistic and business books in the Kazakh language. The books were donated with the support of Berik Kaniev's friends to make knowledge more accessible to the community.
